Akhilesh Yadav has claimed that he has not received an invitation for Rahul Gandhi’s Nyay Yatra scheduled to commence on February 14th in Uttar Pradesh. In the wake of this claim, efforts have been made to control the damage for the Congress. The political temperature in Uttar Pradesh has risen following the statement from the Samajwadi Party chief.

Lucknow: Controversy has emerged among the alliance partners of I.N.D.I.A. regarding the Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Trinamool Congress supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had raised the issue of not being invited to the Nyay Yatra in West Bengal. Subsequently, she announced the allocation of two seats to the Congress in the state. Now, in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the opposition alliance I.N.D.I.A., has also raised a similar issue. He stated that an invitation for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has not been received yet. This statement from Akhilesh comes a day after Congress claimed to be in damage control mode.

On Sunday, it was announced by Congress that the itinerary of the journey in the state would be finalized within one or two days. After that, it will be shared by the alliance partners of I.N.D.I.A.

Criticism from I.N.D.I.A.’s allies:

The Nyay Yatra of Rahul Gandhi has faced sharp criticism from the allies of the I.N.D.I.A. coalition. When the journey was passing through Bengal, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee kept her distance from it. Similarly, discussions about the allocation of seats between Congress and Samajwadi Party have not been smooth in Uttar Pradesh. Claims for seats by Congress on the ones earmarked for Rahul’s Nyay Yatra have been ongoing. Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav has already clarified his stance on the distribution of seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Stone-pelting in Bengal on Rahul’s Yatra:

Akhilesh Yadav has unilaterally announced the allocation of 11 seats for Congress, while the Samajwadi Party has declared candidates for 16 seats. This includes some seats like Farrukhabad and Lakhimpur Kheri, where Congress, the oldest party in the country, has high expectations. Before this, discussions between both parties for a pre-poll alliance for the elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan did not yield positive results. Samajwadi Party fielded candidates on 69 seats in Madhya Pradesh, which affected the Congress’ chances on several seats. Rahul’s journey is currently in Jharkhand, and on Friday, newly elected CM Hemant Soren joined it.
