Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have departed for Delhi to attend the National Film Awards event at Vigyan Bhavan on Tuesday. The couple was seen at Mumbai’s private Kalina airport as they prepared to board their flight. Alia will be receiving the National Film Award for Best Actor for her role in the film “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” while Karan Johar’s production “Shershaah” will be honored with the Special Jury Award.
At the airport, Alia Bhatt was attired in an ivory salwar suit with her hair elegantly tied in a bun. Ranbir Kapoor was dressed in a black hoodie and pants, wearing sunglasses for the early morning flight. Both of them graciously greeted and waved to the paparazzi.
Alia has shared the Best Actor award with Kriti Sanon, who won in the same category for her performance in “Mimi.” Kriti, who played a dancer and surrogate mother in the film, arrived in Delhi on Monday for the awards ceremony. When the awards were announced, Alia gave a shoutout to Kriti on Instagram, praising her honest and powerful performance.
In addition to Alia’s Best Actor award, “Gangubai Kathiawadi” has received several other awards, including Best Screenplay (Adapted) for Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Utkarshini Vashishtha, Best Dialogue Writer for Utkarshini and Prakash Kapadia, and Best Editing for Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Karan Johar, the filmmaker and head of Dharma Productions, will also be attending the National Film Awards event in Delhi. His production, “Shershaah,” featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, has received the Special Jury Award at the 69th National Film Awards. In response to the award announcement, Karan expressed his gratitude on Instagram, thanking the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for recognizing “Shershaah” as deserving of the prestigious National Award.
