Inspired by the true story of journalist Jigna Vora, who was wrongly accused of murdering a fellow journalist, ‘Scoop’ is an adaptation of Jigna’s own written account of her life behind bars and the profound impact of the unjust accusation on her life.

Karishma Tanna’s portrayal in the lead role garnered significant acclaim, and the show itself was recognized as outstanding. Recently, at the 2023 Busan Film Festival’s Asia Contents Awards and Global OTT Awards, ‘Scoop’ emerged victorious in two categories. Karishma Tanna was honored with the ‘Best Lead Actress’ award for her role as a journalist advocating for justice in a politically charged environment.

Attending the Busan Film Festival in a black saree, Karishma Tanna showcased cultural pride on the red carpet. Director Hansal Mehta celebrated the win for the Best Asian TV Series at the Asia Contents Awards and Global OTT Awards, expressing pride in the recognition received for ‘Scoop.’

“This is a really proud moment for us to have received this recognition for ‘Scoop’ as the best Asian TV Series in Busan. Our attempt at bringing alive a story that gripped India has been received with so much love, well beyond our borders. This award bears testimony to the spirit of Jigna Vora,” said Hansal Mehta. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the entire team, including Netflix and Matchbox Shots, and emphasized the importance of telling a timely story of moral, ethical, personal, and journalistic dimensions.
