David Warner is facing a potential crisis ahead of Australia’s third Test against Pakistan as he bids farewell to red ball cricket. The veteran opener, set to retire from Test and ODI cricket after the game, expressed concern on social media that his backpack, containing his cherished Baggy Green Australia Test cap, has gone missing.

In a video posted on his Instagram handle, Warner described it as his “last resort,” revealing that his backpack, including some gifts for his daughters and his beloved Baggy Green, did not arrive at Sydney Airport from Melbourne after the second Test. In the caption, he urged anyone with information to come forward, stating, “Hi all, this is my last resort, but my backpack, which contained my Baggy Green, has been taken from my luggage, which was transported to Melbourne airport and flown on @qantas to Sydney a few days ago.”

“It’s sentimental to me. It’s something I’d love to have in my hands walking out there this week. If it’s the backpack you really wanted, I have a spare one here. You won’t get into trouble,” Warner mentioned in the video, extending an offer to return the Baggy Green without repercussions. He urged people to contact Cricket Australia or himself via social media with any leads.

Warner informed that he had already consulted Qantas, the airline responsible for transporting the team’s bags, and the Quay West hotel in Melbourne, where the team stayed. Despite efforts, the search for the missing backpack continues, with CCTV footage and hotel cameras not providing conclusive evidence.
