The government has issued a high-security alert for Apple and Samsung users. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has identified some vulnerabilities in the devices of these companies. This poses a risk as hackers can easily gain access to users’ phones.

CERT-IN initially issued a security alert for Samsung users, followed by a similar alert for Apple users. iPhone users have received a high-risk warning, emphasizing the potential threat to their phone’s security, and ignoring this warning may expose their data to hackers. CERT-IN advises users to promptly update their phones.

Apple Device Vulnerabilities: The government has issued a warning for all Apple devices, including iOS, Apple Watch OS, iPad OS, and Apple Safari, running versions prior to 17.2. A vulnerability has been identified in all previous versions, which hackers can exploit to gain access to the system.

Alert for Samsung Users: Prior to Apple, the government had issued an alert for Samsung users. CERT-IN had issued a high-risk warning for Samsung users whose smartphones are running on Android 11, 12, 13, or 14 versions. According to CERT-IN, there are some vulnerabilities in Samsung smartphones running on Android 11, 12, 13, and 14, and hackers can take advantage of these vulnerabilities to access user phones. CERT-IN has advised these users to update their phones as well.

Alert for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Browsers: CERT-IN has also identified a bug in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. This bug could potentially give hackers access to your computer. The government has issued an alert, urging users to update their systems. CERT-IN has classified this bug as a high-security alert.
