Mumbai Rain News Live Updates Today (September 15): With elections less than a year away, the special cabinet meeting of the Maharashtra government in Aurangabad today is expected to unveil funds and projects totaling up to Rs 45,000 crore for the drought-prone regions of Marathwada. However, the meeting has already drawn criticism for the lavish arrangements provided to ministers and bureaucrats, given the region’s drought conditions.

As some parts of Mumbai experience heavy rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for the city and its neighboring districts, extending at least until Monday.

In other news, the city’s last non-AC double-decker bus departed from Marol Depot on Friday morning. Over the next nine months, a total of 900 air-conditioned double-decker buses will be added to the fleet through a wet lease. Furthermore, 20 new open double-decker buses will be procured, with a tender for this purpose expected to be announced soon, according to a BEST official.
