Shah Rukh Khan addressed the audience at the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai screening, commemorating the film’s silver jubilee celebration.
As Karan Johar’s directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, marks its 25th anniversary on Monday, the director, along with the lead actors Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji, graced a special screening of the film at a PVR in Mumbai on Sunday evening. On this occasion, Shah Rukh spoke about the film’s significance in their lives. However, the highlight of the event was when the actor expressed his reservations about doing love stories, stating that he now leaves them for “Jawan bachche” (youngsters).
At the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai screening, Shah Rukh conveyed, “Is film ka humare liye bahut hi important makaam hai humari zindagi mein, humare dilo mein. Aap log thoda bahut samajhte ho, pura nahi samjhoge kyunki kuch kuch hota hai (this film holds a very important place in our lives and our hearts. You all understand it to some extent, but you cannot fully comprehend it because something special happens).”
Regarding his future plans, he further stated, “Ab pata nahi love story karu ya nahi karu, ab Jawan bachcho ko karne do (now, I don’t know whether I should still do a love story, let’s leave them for the young actors).” The audience reacted to Shah Rukh’s remark with an enthusiastic response.
The video from the event was shared by a paparazzo on Instagram, and the caption read, “Hayyyy he stole the show with that last dialogue. SRK never fails to amaze fans with his wit.” Shah Rukh was seen wearing a black T-shirt and grey patterned denims, paired with a black jacket, while Kajol was dressed in a white saree with a black blouse.
The video was filled with laughing emojis and heart emojis in the comments section. Responding to the video, a fan wrote, “Jawan bacchon se ho nahi raha, aap hi karo maalik (youngsters are not able to do it, only you can do it)!” Another fan said, “You are the Jawan, the OG, the forever.” Many others also commented on how both Shah Rukh and Kajol still looked young and beautiful. Some fans inquired about Kajol’s absence at the screening.
Around the same time, Karan Johar shared a picture of himself wearing a sweatshirt with “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” printed on it. He added the caption, “Tomorrow, my journey in films completes 25 years… can’t believe it’s been that long! #diltobachahaiji #careeranniversary #25yearsofkkhh.”
