Actress Gayatri Joshi, renowned for her role as the female lead in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Swadesh,’ was recently involved in a serious accident in Italy. According to Times Now, the incident occurred while the actress and her husband Vikas Oberoi were driving in Sardinia, where multiple vehicles collided during the Sardinia Supercar Tour. Tragically, a Swiss couple lost their lives in the accident.
A video of the collision has circulated online, showing several luxury cars attempting to overtake a campervan. One of the vehicles collided with it, setting off a chain reaction. The incident involved multiple cars, with the high-end Ferrari carrying the Swiss couple catching fire.
Gayatri has confirmed to Free Press Journal that she and her husband are both “absolutely fine” following the tragic accident. She stated, “Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here… With God’s grace, we are both absolutely fine.”
Reports indicate that the collision occurred when a Lamborghini and the couple’s Ferrari attempted to overtake a camper van simultaneously, resulting in the Ferrari catching fire and the van overturning.
Gayatri Joshi, who won the Femina Miss India International title in 2000, made her acting debut in the 2004 film ‘Swades,’ her sole acting credit to date. Despite receiving several awards for her debut, she exited the film industry shortly after. In 2005, she married businessman Vikas Oberoi, and the couple has two children.
The actress is often seen at gatherings with Hrithik Roshan and his former wife Sussanne Khan, as well as Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna. In 2019, Gayatri made headlines for falling victim to a credit card fraud amounting to 40,000.
