Hidden features exist in WhatsApp that we typically don’t use. We know that to send and receive messages on WhatsApp, your smartphone, tablet, or PC must be connected to the internet. Without internet access, you cannot send or receive any messages on WhatsApp. However, did you know that Meta has introduced a hidden feature on its platform that allows you to send and receive messages on WhatsApp even without internet access?
This feature is called the Proxy feature by WhatsApp. Upon hearing the name, you might be concerned about privacy. You don’t need to worry; even when using this feature, all your communications will remain End-to-End encrypted, meaning they will be completely secure. Let’s find out how to use this feature.
Follow these settings:
- First, ensure that you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device.
- Launch the app, go to your profile, and tap on the three dots on the right side.
- Here, you’ll find the Settings option, tap on it and go to Storage & Data.
- Now, you’ll see the Proxy option here. Tap on it and set up the proxy.
- While setting up the proxy, make sure to customize some information such as the IP address, chat port for text messages, and media port for voice messages, videos, or photos.
- After setting up the proxy, you’ll see a checkmark, ensuring that you have successfully set up the proxy.
When using WhatsApp’s Proxy feature, keep in mind that when using third-party proxies, you will need to share your IP address with the service provider providing the proxy server. Third-party proxies are not provided by WhatsApp. If, even after setting up the proxy, you are not receiving messages without internet access, it may be that the proxy is blocked. In that case, long-press the proxy address and delete it. Then enter another proxy address.
