In the recently concluded quarter, Bharti Airtel, the telecommunications company, reported a 44.2% year-on-year increase in its consolidated net income (excluding exceptional items), reaching Rs 2,960 crore.

New Delhi: Bharti Airtel, the telecom company, disclosed a 37.5% decrease in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter ending on September 30, falling to Rs 1,341 crore from the previous year’s Rs 2,145 crore.

During the same quarter, the consolidated net income (prior to exceptional items) amounted to Rs 2,960 crore, marking a substantial 44.2% year-on-year rise.

The quarterly revenue increased by 7.3% to reach Rs 37,044 crore, attributed to the strong and consistent performance of its operations in India, according to the company’s statement.

Gopal Vittal, Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, stated, “This quarter has once again demonstrated robust revenue growth and improved margins. Our India revenue is gaining momentum, with a sequential growth of 2.4%. However, our consolidated revenue was affected by the devaluation of the Nigerian Naira.”

The company added 7.7 million 4G/5G net subscribers during the quarter and finished with an “industry-leading ARPU of 203,” Vittal added.

“We continued to experience strong growth in our Postpaid and Homes businesses, achieving the highest net additions in both segments in a single quarter. Our performance is driven by a straightforward and consistent approach focused on high-quality customers, delivering them the best experience seamlessly in a digital manner,” Vittal further emphasized.

Bharti Airtel reported that the Mobile ARPU rose to Rs 203 in Q2 2024, up from Rs 190 in Q2 2023.
