On November 26th, XG, the sensational 7-member girl group with a Hip Hop/R&B inspiration from Japan, captivated their first solo live performance audience with the ‘XG ‘NEW DNA’ SHOWCASE in Japan.’
In an upcoming episode, specifically the 390th episode of ‘THE FIRST TAKE,’ XG will be making a return appearance. Despite having debuted just last week, XG has rapidly garnered global attention.
Throughout 2023, they participated in various overseas festivals, including ‘Head In The Clouds New York’ (May), ‘Head In The Clouds Los Angeles’ (August), ‘KCON LA 2023’ (August), ‘FORMULA1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX 2023’ (September), ‘SXSW Sydney’ (November), and ‘HYPEROUND K-FEST ABU DHABI’ (November). Notably, on November 26th, they performed solo for the first time in front of a live audience at the ‘XG ‘NEW DNA’ SHOWCASE in Japan’ held at the Pia Arena MM in Yokohama, drawing over 200,000 ticket applications.
Their inaugural appearance on ‘THE FIRST TAKE’ last week, featuring their 3rd Single ‘SHOOTING STAR,’ generated significant excitement.
In their second appearance on the show today, they will present their latest single, “WINTER WITHOUT YOU,” released on December 8th. This Winter R&B track beautifully conveys the nostalgic and poignant emotions associated with thinking about distant loved ones during Christmas, incorporating warm sensibility and sweet harmony. Unlike their usual edgy XG style, this song allows viewers to appreciate the ensemble of the seven members’ personalities and beautiful harmonies. This special one-take recording on “THE FIRST TAKE” marks the debut performance of this work in Japanese media.
