The upcoming Telugu movie “Family Star,” directed by Parasuram Petla of “Geetha Govindam” fame, has released its teaser, featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles.
The teaser portrays Deverakonda as a blue-collar hero who will resort to violence to protect his family from harm. He is depicted as a middle-class individual capable of confronting thugs by breaking beer bottles and bones. Despite being a family-oriented person, he also exhibits frugality, insisting that the girl share petrol expenses if she wants a lift. Mrunal makes a brief appearance towards the end of the promo.
This movie marks the second collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Parasuram, who previously worked together in “Geetha Govindam” (2018). Rashmika Mandanna, who starred in the earlier film, will make a special cameo appearance in “Family Star.”
The first single from the film, “Nandanandanaa,” was recently released. Gopi Sundar, who previously collaborated with Deverakonda and the director on “Geetha Govindam,” has been enlisted for the music.
Produced by Dil Raju under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film boasts KU Mohanan as the cinematographer and Marthand K Venkatesh as the editor.
Parasuram’s last directorial venture was the 2022 Mahesh Babu starrer “Sarkaru Vaari Paata.” Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in “Kushi,” which received decent reviews, while Mrunal Thakur’s latest appearance was opposite Nani in “Hi Nanna.”
“Family Star” is slated for release in theaters on April 5.
