Jisoo from BLACKPINK has chosen to embark on a solo career under her brother’s agency, following her decision not to renew her individual contract with YG Entertainment. Reports indicate that the Flower singer, initially rumored to join G-Dragon’s new agency, has instead opted to collaborate with her family and become part of the agency Blisoo.

According to an exclusive K-media report on January 2, Jisoo has officially joined her brother’s agency, Blissoo, which operates as a subsidiary entertainment startup under Biomom, Inc. The report reveals that Jisoo’s brother holds the position of CEO within the label. Notably, recent job postings by Blissoo featuring Jisoo’s picture have fueled speculation about her involvement with the agency.

Looking ahead, Jisoo is set to release her solo artist album in 2023, marking a new chapter in her musical journey. The decision to pursue solo activities follows a trend within BLACKPINK, as fellow member Jennie previously made her solo debut with her own label, OA. Jennie has since been actively engaging with fans on various social media platforms, hinting at potential upcoming releases from her label.

Despite inquiries, Biomom, Inc. declined to provide details about the company’s relationship with Blissoo, stating that it’s complex to define the connection and expressing uncertainty about the CEO’s family ties.

In a noteworthy development, all four BLACKPINK members—Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose—chose not to renew their individual contracts with YG Entertainment, effective December 29th, after renewing their group contract with the label. This follows YG Entertainment’s recent focus shift towards their new girl group, BABYMONSTER, and marks the second major departure after BIGBANG’s G-Dragon signed a new contract with Galaxy Corporation, parting ways with YG Entertainment following his clearance from a drug case.
