The Brazilian influencer Luana Andrade, aged 29, tragically passed away due to complications arising from a cosmetic procedure. The incident occurred during a liposuction surgery on her knee at San Luis Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Regrettably, Luana experienced four cardiac arrests during the procedure, leading to the cessation of her heart function approximately two and a half hours into the operation.
According to reports, the medical team ceased the fat removal procedure and initiated resuscitation efforts. Luana was then transferred to the intensive care unit. A subsequent medical investigation revealed that she had suffered from a pulmonary embolism linked to thrombosis. In a statement, the hospital mentioned, “The surgery was interrupted, and the patient underwent tests that revealed massive thrombosis. She was transferred to the ICU where she underwent medication and hemodynamic treatment.”
Luana, a well-known Brazilian influencer and TV personality, had been recognized for her contributions to Power Couple 6 and her role as a stage assistant on the Brazilian TV show Domingo Legal. Additionally, she had recently launched her own clothing brand. Her final social media post, shared from a gym, expressed her love for the place.
In the wake of her passing, condolences poured in from various quarters, including Brazilian football star Neymar, who paid tribute to Luana on his Instagram account. In his message, Neymar expressed his condolences to the family and lamented the sad news, stating, “A sad day, with two very bad pieces of news. Firstly, Bru’s [Bruna Biancardi] parents were attacked, but thank God they’re all okay! Secondly, the death of a friend. My condolences to all the family! May God welcome Luana with open arms.”
