Mankurad Mangoes in Goa are currently being sold for around 500 to 600 rupees per piece. However, only those who can afford its price are able to make the purchase. Fruit sellers state that everyone is keen to know the prices of these domestic Mankurad mangoes.

Panaji: The season of the king of fruits, mango, has arrived in the country. However, the price of these mangoes is so high that it is currently beyond the reach of the common man. In Goa, Mankurad mangoes are currently selling at around Rs. 7,000 per dozen. The price of Mankurad mangoes this season is significantly higher than the Rs. 6,000 per dozen price recorded last year. The early arrival of these juicy mangoes has surprised both sellers and consumers alike. Typically, the mango season begins in summers. The reason for these mangoes being so expensive is the off-season. According to fruit vendors, prices will gradually decrease from mid-February as other varieties of mangoes enter the market.

Fruit seller Nisar Nandihaleti mentioned that these fruits come to the market during winters and are available in limited quantities, thus commanding higher prices. He explained that the prices will slowly decrease from February as other varieties of mangoes will also be available in the market. Currently, only a few people are selling Mankurad mangoes. However, when the season peaks, the entire market will be filled with them. Currently, the market is still waiting for several other local varieties of mangoes to arrive.

A mango priced at 500 rupees It is worth noting that people eagerly await the arrival of Mankurad mangoes. In parts of Madgaon and Bardes markets, mangoes are being sold for Rs. 6,000 per dozen. People purchasing the fruit mentioned that not everyone can afford Mankurad mangoes. While they may be heavy on the pocket, there is no comparison to their taste. It can be observed that the Mankurad variety of mangoes is currently beyond the reach of the common man. Last week in Panaji’s market, a dozen of these ripe and flavorful Mankurad mangoes were sold at Rs. 6,000, translating to a price of 500 to 600 rupees per mango.
