Karan Johar expressed his gratitude for the meaningful friendships he shares with Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and Kareena Kapoor. The filmmaker disclosed that after becoming a parent in 2017, his Bollywood friends played a significant role in raising his twins, Yash and Roohi, alongside his mother, Hiroo Johar.

During a media interaction in Mumbai, Karan shared, “When I had kids, I was 44 years old. I always thought I would be the oldest person in a PTM (parent-teacher meeting), a WhatsApp group, or my children’s birthday party. But it is so far from the truth. Kareena had Taimur just two months prior to Yash and Roohi’s birth. Rani had Adira a year before Yash and Roohi were born. These two are my closest friends in the industry.” Karan’s children were born via surrogacy in 2017.

On his talk show “Koffee with Karan,” he has frequently mentioned the close age proximity of his children to Rani and Aditya Chopra’s daughter, Adira. He expressed gratitude for the friendship he shares with Rani, Kareena, and Kajol, highlighting their support, especially when navigating single parenthood.

Addressing the evolution of his relationships with Kajol and Kareena over the years, Karan acknowledged the natural ebb and flow. He stated, “With time, you realize that relationships go through ups and downs. I would never want to go back to the time when we weren’t speaking (addressing his past feuds with Kajol and Kareena). I am glad that today I am strong as a friend.”

“Koffee with Karan” Season 8 is available on Disney Plus Hotstar, with the upcoming guests being Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal.
