Director Abhishek Kapoor has shared insights into the challenges faced by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput during the filming of “Kedarnath.”
Abhishek Kapoor, known for collaborating with Sushant in films like “Kedarnath” and “Kai Po Che,” discussed the actor’s struggles during the making of “Kedarnath.” He recalled Sushant’s dedication, particularly in adverse conditions, which motivated co-star Sara Ali Khan.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Abhishek highlighted Sushant’s transformation for “Kai Po Che,” emphasizing his commitment to embodying the character of a cricketer. Despite initial doubts about Sushant’s physicality, Kapoor witnessed his remarkable dedication over three months of intense training.
Reflecting on their bond, Abhishek Kapoor revealed his desire to cast Sushant in “Fitoor,” although the project ultimately didn’t materialize. Instead, Sushant was cast in “Kedarnath,” where Kapoor observed the actor’s resilience firsthand during challenging filming conditions.
Describing a particularly cold and wet shoot for “Kedarnath,” Abhishek recalled Sushant’s unwavering determination, which inspired Sara Ali Khan to overcome her own hesitations.
“He was a bit disturbed in those days,” Abhishek noted, acknowledging Sushant’s mental and physical strength while also expressing concern about his sense of isolation and vulnerability.
According to Kapoor, addressing the aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death was essential, given the industry’s prevailing dynamics and the need to confront issues of manipulation and exploitation.
