The Chief Minister of Karnataka extended an invitation to several prominent leaders hailing from the state, including Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Pralhad Joshi, urging them to join the ‘Chalo Delhi’ protest organized by the Congress party at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar today. The protest aimed to address grievances regarding reduced tax devolution to the state by the central government.

While BJP MP Tejasvi Surya opted not to participate, both FM Sitharaman and Pralhad Joshi responded to the allegations, refuting claims of decreased tax devolution. The CM publicly shared a letter, dated Monday, on social media, inviting Sitharaman and other key figures to partake in the protest.

Utilizing the micro-blogging platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the CM tagged various leaders, including Sitharaman, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda, and others, urging their involvement in the demonstration.

In his communication, the CM emphasized the protest’s purpose as advocating against injustice and discrimination in tax distribution by the central government. He urged bipartisan cooperation for the welfare of Karnataka.

Additionally, the CM extended an invitation to all Karnataka BJP leaders to participate. Responding to this, Tejasvi Surya declined, opting instead to hold a press conference in Delhi to counter what he described as the Congress government’s deceptive narrative.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman vehemently rejected allegations of reduced central grants, dismissing them as politically motivated. Similarly, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi labeled the accusations as baseless, accusing CM Siddaramaiah of engaging in divisive politics without substantial evidence.
