The box office performance of “Ganapath,” the futuristic action film starring Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon, and Amitabh Bachchan, had a slow start on its opening day in theaters.

“Ganapath” box office collection: On its first day in theaters, the film had a subdued beginning at the ticket counters, with early estimates suggesting it earned ₹2.50 crore in India. It was released alongside Divya Khosla Kumar’s “Yaariyan 2,” but it performed better than the latter. The film’s box office performance was reported by Sacnilk.com.

The report indicates that “Ganapath” recorded a 9.72 percent occupancy rate for the Hindi shows on Friday. The movie is directed by Vikas Bahl and co-produced by Jackky Bhagnani.

“Ganapath” stars Tiger Shroff in the lead role, playing an “immortal” mercenary in a futuristic setting. Amitabh Bachchan portrays the character of his grandfather, and Kriti Sanon also has several action sequences in the film.

The film received mixed to negative reviews from critics, with one review from The Hindustan Times describing it as having a rather silly premise with a lack of coherence, relying on fight scenes and dance numbers to engage the audience.

Tiger Shroff, known for his action roles, mentioned at a promotional event that reinventing himself as an action hero with each film is becoming increasingly challenging due to the growing expectations, budgets, and landscapes in the action genre. He emphasized his commitment to entertaining the audience and raising the bar of action with each new project.
