Mahua Moitra is scheduled to provide her statement to the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee, which is investigating the ‘cash-for-question’ allegations against her.
Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, whom Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra referred to as her ‘jilted ex,’ has expressed his fearlessness and resistance to being intimidated by anyone. He emphasized that if someone attempts to manipulate the narrative by portraying themselves as a victim, the entire nation is observing. Mahua Moitra arrived at Parliament to record her statement before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee, which is examining the allegations of ‘cash for question’ against her, a case brought forward by Jai Anant Dehadrai and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.
In addition to the ‘cash for questions’ case, Mahua Moitra and Jai Anant are also embroiled in another dispute, concerning the custody of Henry, a Rottweiler. Both claim that Henry, the dog they acquired during their relationship, was kidnapped by the other party following their breakup.
Recently, Mahua Moitra participated in several television interviews, where she openly admitted to sharing her Parliament login credentials with Darshan Hiranandani. This was to allow the industrialist’s office staff to assist her in drafting questions. Moitra argued that this posed no security threat since Parliament login credentials are not confidential; every MP’s team has access to them. She refuted allegations of logging in from Dubai, stating that there was no exchange of cash. Moitra contended that she had known Darshan for an extended period, even before becoming an MP, and the items she received were limited to a scarf and a few makeup items.
Mahua Moitra asserted that Jai Anant Dehadrai approached BJP MP Nishikant Dubey with the intention of framing her, fueled by their personal acrimony over Henry. She accused Dubey of faking his PhD degree and noted that no other BJP leaders entertained Dehadrai’s claims.
