A multitude of changes occurred during and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This global health crisis profoundly transformed our social, emotional, and physical well-being in ways that often appear to be irreversible. However, it’s curious that as we transitioned out of the pandemic, it seems like we’ve collectively moved forward and stopped discussing the profound impact it had on our lives.
Furthermore, we frequently avoid addressing how COVID-19 spread and how so many individuals contracted the virus, despite taking diligent precautions. Recently, a Twitter user initiated a poll to pose this very question to the public. The resulting thread sheds light on the societal integrity we sometimes lacked during the pandemic.
Individuals who had contracted the virus shared their personal experiences. Some revealed that they had been infected by family members who were resistant to adhering to safety measures. Others included frontline workers such as doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and journalists. Additionally, there were individuals from workplaces with toxic environments who had to grapple with the consequences of being required to work during the pandemic.
