In various regions of Rajasthan, there has been light to moderate rainfall, resulting in significant damage to crops. According to the Jaipur weather center, over the past 24 hours, some parts of the state have experienced light to moderate showers. Churu recorded the highest rainfall at 19 millimeters, while Lalsot (Dausa) received 17 millimeters of rainfall. The weather center reported that on Saturday, due to the influence of a western disturbance, a circulation system formed over northern Pakistan and Punjab. Consequently, there is a high possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall in some parts of eastern Rajasthan, including Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Jaipur regions.

What did the weather department say about the rainfall?

According to the Jaipur weather center, there is a possibility of clouds lingering and occasional light rain in the Jodhpur and Bikaner regions. However, from March 3 onwards, the impact of the disturbance is expected to diminish in most parts of the state, with predominantly dry weather forecasted for the coming week. In Rajasthan, seven people lost their lives due to lightning strikes on Friday, and two others were injured. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed financial assistance of five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased and ensured appropriate assistance and treatment for the injured. Additionally, the state government has announced assessments of crop damage due to the recent rains.

Anticipation of Rainfall was indicated on Friday

It is worth mentioning that due to the recent western disturbance, the weather changed in several areas of Rajasthan on Friday itself. Two days ago, the weather department predicted light to moderate rainfall and hailstorms in many areas. According to the Jaipur weather center, on Friday, a circulation system formed over southwestern Rajasthan and the surrounding Pakistan region due to the influence of a severe western disturbance. Consequently, there was an anticipation of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Udaipur regions.
