On Halloween Eve, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children, George, aged 10, Charlotte, aged 8, and Louis, aged 5, have returned to school at Lambrook following their half-term break. However, they might also be eagerly anticipating celebrating the spooky holiday with costumes and candy!
In the United Kingdom, trick-or-treating is not as common as it is in the United States, where around 72 million kids go door-to-door for sweets every year. Princess Kate, however, has been seen taking her children to participate in this Halloween tradition in the past.
A photo published by Hello! magazine showed the royal mother at a neighbor’s gate with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as they enjoyed Halloween festivities. Although it was difficult to discern the children’s costumes from the photo, Princess Kate was holding a bag, presumably for collecting treats.
Neighbor Jay Rutland commented on the photo, writing, “For anyone doubting how down to earth William and Kate are… This is Kate with their kids knocking on our door in London trick-or-treating at Halloween.” Rutland is married to British heiress Tamara Ecclestone, and they reside in the same Kensington area where William and Kate used to live before moving to Windsor in 2022.
The Prince and Princess of Wales embarked on a new chapter in their lives when they relocated to Adelaide Cottage and enrolled their children at Lambrook. This period brought many changes, including living without nanny Maria Turrion Borrallo and having George, Charlotte, and Louis attend the same school for the first time.
Princess Kate’s love for trick-or-treating appears to be a family trait. Last year, her mother, Carole Middleton, shared her favorite part of the season on her Party Pieces Instagram page.
“I can still remember the fun and frights from my own childhood; the chance to dress up, decorate pumpkins, and go trick-or-treating!”
She also revealed her plans for the 2022 celebration: “I’ve even grown my own pumpkins this year, so I’m looking forward to decorating those with my loved ones.”
