Stock Market Closing: The Indian stock market witnessed a significant decline today, with both the Sensex and Nifty closing lower.

The Indian stock market concluded Monday’s session with a downturn. The BSE Sensex recorded a fall of 325.58 points or 0.50%, closing at 64,933.87 points, while the Nifty saw a decline of 82 points or 0.42%, finishing at 19,443.55 points.

The decline in the market was primarily centered around large-cap shares. The Nifty100 index closed with a decline of 0.35%. Meanwhile, the Midcap 100 index closed with a gain of 0.07%, and the Smallcap 100 index showed a brisk rise of 0.68%. Noteworthy was the robust buying observed in government banks, metal, and energy shares, while pressure was observed in the IT, financial services, and pharmaceutical sectors.

Sensex Gainers and Losers: Among the 30 stocks in the Sensex, 23 closed in the red today. Stocks such as Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, TCS, ICICI Bank, Nestle, HDFC Bank, Reliance, HUL, ITC, UltraTech, Asian Paints, Titan, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, Maruti Suzuki, L&T, Kotak Mahindra, Wipro, HCL Tech, and SBI witnessed declines. On the other hand, stocks like M&M, JSW Steel, NTPC, Power Grid, IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors, and Tata Steel closed in the green.

Global Market Overview: The situation in Asian markets was mixed during today’s trading session. Tokyo, Bangkok, and Seoul markets closed in the red, while Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Jakarta markets showed a buying trend. In the United States, the markets closed with gains in the Friday trading session. Foreign investors sold shares worth INR 261 crores in the Indian stock market during Friday’s trading session.

Market Opening: The stock market opened today with a decline. By 9:30 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 64,971.13 points, down by 300.43 points or 0.46%, and the Nifty was trading at 19,448.85 points, showing a decline of 76.80 points or 0.39%.
