In Odisha, on the Dhenkanal-Angul section of the Bhuvaneshwar-Sambalpur line, individuals targeted the Semi High-Speed train by throwing stones between Meramandali and Budhapank stations on Sunday. During this attack, the glass of an ‘Executive Class’ compartment was damaged, causing panic among passengers.

Instances of stone-pelting on India’s high-speed train, known as Vande Bharat Express, are not uncommon. A case of stone throwing on the Bhuvaneshwar-Puri Vande Bharat Express in Odisha recently came to light. The incident occurred on Sunday, and two individuals involved have been apprehended and are facing action, as reported by the East Coast Railway.

Passengers were subjected to panic during the incident between Meramandali and Budhapank stations on the Dhenkanal-Angul railway section of the Bhuvaneshwar-Sambalpur line in Odisha. The Executive Class compartment’s glass was damaged in this attack, but fortunately, no passengers were injured.

The East Coast Railway informed that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) initiated a search for the stone throwers, leading to the arrest of two individuals at the location of the incident. They were taken into custody, and upon questioning, they admitted to their involvement in the stone-pelting incident on the Vande Bharat Express. According to the statement from the East Coast Railway, the individuals confessed that they had come to the desolate area near the railway track, close to where the incident occurred, and, after consuming alcohol, threw stones at the Vande Bharat Express to enjoy themselves. They accepted responsibility for their actions, leading to their apprehension.
