Aakash Chopra commented on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s remarkable performance in the second Test match against England, where he played a brilliant inning and scored his second century of the Test career. This marks Jaiswal’s first century in India. At the end of the first day’s play, India scored 336 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, with Jaiswal contributing an impressive 179 runs.

Speaking about Jaiswal’s extraordinary batting, Aakash Chopra made a statement that has stirred excitement among fans. The renowned commentator mentioned on his YouTube channel that Jaiswal should be ranked higher than Sir Don Bradman in terms of converting half-centuries into centuries in first-class cricket. Chopra praised Jaiswal’s skills, especially his ability to handle spinners, as evident from his excellent performance in the match.

Furthermore, Aakash Chopra mentioned, “Jaiswal’s display with the bat was fantastic. When he faced the spinners, he hit two boundaries in the first over. After that, he showed why he is a special player. Converting half-centuries into centuries in first-class cricket has a success rate of 73%, and at present, he is even better than Sir Don Bradman. He is truly exceptional.”

Jaiswal himself shared insights into his approach, stating, “After the end of the first day’s play, we had a discussion. I wanted to play session by session. When they were bowling well, I just wanted to survive and play cautiously. In the beginning, the wicket was damp, and there was a bit of seam and swing. I wanted to play my shots on loose deliveries and carry on till the end.”

Aakash Chopra concluded by praising Jaiswal’s stellar performance against James Anderson, the ace fast bowler, acknowledging his resilience and respect for Anderson’s bowling.
