Led by Suryakumar Yadav, Team India secured a 4-1 victory in the bilateral series against Australia, triumphing in the 5th T20I by a margin of 6 runs. The match showcased stellar performances from several young players who showcased their talent and elevated their game.

After India defended 10 runs in the last 6 balls, particularly thanks to Arshdeep’s exceptional performance, Mohammad Kaif took the opportunity to taunt the Australians once again. The hosts sealed the victory, clinching the series 4-1. Axar Patel earned the Man of the Match title for contributing a quickfire 31 runs down the order and also taking a wicket.

The series highlighted a comprehensive performance by India, with numerous young talents stepping up and making significant contributions at different junctures. Ravi Bishnoi, recognized for his exceptional bowling, was named the Player of the Series, finishing with 9 wickets from 5 matches.

Kaif had faced criticism from several Australians previously when he commented on Twitter that the best team on paper did not win the 2023 World Cup. Damien Martyn and David Warner mocked Kaif for his statement, emphasizing Australia’s dominance in the final. Kaif clarified that his tweet was taken out of context, explaining that he meant India played superior cricket, winning 10 consecutive matches until the final.

After India’s 4-1 series triumph, Kaif once again took a dig at the Aussies, stating, “Better talent, better skills. This time the better team on the field, and on paper, won.”

In a continuation of MS Dhoni’s tradition, Suryakumar Yadav handed the trophy to the youngest team member, Rinku Singh, who lifted it amid cheers from the crowd and players.

The series showcased several positives for India, including Bishnoi emerging as a match-winner, Rinku Singh’s match-finishing abilities, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s confidence at the top order, and Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership. In the Bengaluru match, pacers successfully defended a modest target on a small ground, providing a significant boost to their careers. Additionally, Jitesh Sharma exhibited brilliance both with the gloves and the bat in the latter part of the series.
