Upon receiving the news, 10 to 12 fire brigade vehicles from the Fire Department rushed to the scene, and after about an hour of intense effort, they managed to control the fire. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries in this incident, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Krishna Mod, the Chief Fire Officer of Surat Municipal Corporation, stated that on Tuesday afternoon, they received information about a fire at one of the showrooms in Bombay Market. Mod mentioned that the fire department’s team quickly arrived at the scene and, after strenuous efforts, brought the fire under control. When Mod arrived at the scene, the atmosphere was chaotic.

The reasons behind the fire are yet to be determined, and the police are conducting an investigation into the incident. It’s worth noting that the Old Bombay Market has long been a central hub for buyers seeking high-quality traditional Indian clothing, particularly renowned for its exquisite sarees, clothing materials, and lehengas, making it a favorite market for those shopping for weddings in Surat.
