In a recent post, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed concerns about the distribution of taxes, stating that Karnataka’s share of taxes has been decreasing each year. He highlighted that the tax money contributed by the people of Karnataka is being shared with the northern states.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka has countered allegations made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding tax distribution, turning the blame on the central government. Ashwath Narayan, the leader of the Karnataka BJP and former Deputy Chief Minister, revealed that the central government has allocated Rs. 2,82,791 crores to Karnataka during the period of 2014-2024. This amount surpasses the funds provided during the tenure of the Congress-led UPA government by 245.7 percent.

Siddaramaiah had leveled accusations in his post, shared on social media, where he expressed concern about the decreasing share of taxes for Karnataka. He emphasized that the tax money contributed by the people of Karnataka is being shared with the northern states. Siddaramaiah questioned the injustice happening with Karnataka, addressing Prime Minister Modi in his post.
