Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has been targeted with a threatening email demanding ₹400 crore, according to police reports on Tuesday.
This marks the third threatening email received by Ambani in just four days, an official confirmed. The initial email, seeking ₹20 crore, prompted the filing of an FIR at Gamdevi police station based on a complaint from Ambani’s security in-charge. Subsequently, a second email demanding ₹200 crore was received by the company. The third email, doubling the demand, was received on Monday.
Mumbai police, along with their crime branch and cyber teams, are actively engaged in efforts to trace the sender of these threatening emails. In a related incident last year, a man from Bihar’s Darbhanga was arrested by the Mumbai police for making death threats to Ambani and his family members. The accused had also issued threats to explode the Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.
