On Wednesday, Pakistan is set to take on Nepal in the opening match of the Asia Cup 2023 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

For their initial encounter in the Asia Cup 2023 against Nepal, Pakistan has revealed its chosen playing XI. The match is scheduled for August 30th at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The home team has strategically assembled a lineup that emphasizes batting prowess while also incorporating a balanced composition of three fast bowlers and three spin-bowling all-rounders.

In a departure from the squad that participated in the recent final ODI against Afghanistan in Colombo, Captain Babar Azam has elected to introduce some alterations.

Iftikhar Ahmed, slotted in as a middle-order batter, replaces Saud Shakeel. The pace department comprises Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf, while Mohammad Wasim remains on the bench.

The spin-bowling all-rounder category consists of Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, and Salman Agha.

The top four positions in the batting order — featuring Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, and Mohammad Rizwan — remain consistent with familiar faces.

The Pakistan XI for the match comprises: Babar Azam (captain), Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Salman Agha, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.
