Parineeti Chopra recently discussed the reasons behind the underperformance of her film ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ at the box office.

In brief, Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra shared her thoughts on the disappointment surrounding her movie ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu,’ which also featured Ayushmann Khurrana. The film was released in 2017, coinciding with SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘Baahubali 2.’

Bollywood star Parineeti Chopra, who is rumored to be tying the knot soon, recently opened up about the lackluster reception of her 2017 film, ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu.’

In a conversation with Radio Nasha, the actress explained that the film’s lack of success was primarily due to its release alongside SS Rajamouli’s monumental hit ‘Baahubali 2,’ starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati.

Parineeti also expressed her belief that ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ deserved greater box office success and stated, “Meri Pyaari Bindu was released alongside Baahubali, which is why it didn’t receive the attention it deserved back then. Nevertheless, it’s the film I receive the most affection for today, and that’s what truly matters. Numerous films like this may not have generated substantial numbers at the time, but they always find their audience eventually.”

During the same conversation, Parineeti also touched on her experience of convincingly portraying a ‘small-town girl’ character. She revealed that after playing such roles, people approached her and inquired, “Oh, you speak English? You know how to speak English?” Parineeti found this assumption rather perplexing, saying, “It’s astonishing. After I portrayed small-town roles, people began asking me if I could speak English. I found that quite bizarre. Why would you assume that I couldn’t speak English?”

On the professional front, Parineeti is set to appear in ‘Mission Raniganj’ alongside Akshay Kumar and has Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Chamkila’ in her upcoming projects, where she will share the screen with Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh.
