Sharing his thoughts on social media, PM Modi conveyed his enthusiasm for the Summit’s proceedings, emphasizing its goal of creating a better planet. He stated, “Landed in Dubai to take part in the COP-28 Summit. Looking forward to the proceedings of the Summit, which are aimed at creating a better planet.”

During his visit, PM Modi is set to address the opening session of the World Climate Action Summit and participate in three high-level side events, with two co-hosted by India. The World Climate Action Summit, constituting the high-level segment of COP28, will commence with opening events in the morning. PM Modi will deliver an address and attend a special event hosted by the UAE on transforming climate finance. Additionally, he will co-host an event with the UAE focusing on green credits, an initiative of personal interest to the Prime Minister.

The visit aligns with the invitation extended by the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In his departure statement, PM Modi highlighted the importance of the UAE as a crucial partner for India in the realm of climate action.

The COP28 Summit, taking place in Dubai from November 30 to December 12, is a significant gathering involving delegates from nearly 200 nations, including global leaders.
