Tejas Box Office Collection Day 3: The film “Tejas,” directed by Sarvesh Mewara, has faced a disappointing outcome at the box office, failing to surpass the 4 crore rupee mark during its opening weekend in theaters. This is another setback for Kangana Ranaut, who has been struggling with a series of box office disappointments. The film, an action-packed offering, concluded its opening weekend in the domestic market without reaching the 4 crore rupee milestone.
On its third day in theaters, which fell on a Sunday, the movie did not show any improvement in its box office earnings, managing to accumulate just 1.3 crore rupees in India, the same as the previous day, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk.
Even on its release day, which was a Friday, the film failed to attract a substantial audience and earned only 1.25 crore rupees, a significant shortfall compared to its reported budget of 60 crore rupees.
On Sunday, “Tejas” achieved an overall Hindi occupancy rate of just 8.37%. Initially, during the morning shows, the film experienced a meager 5.80% occupancy within the Hindi market. As the day progressed, this percentage increased slightly, reaching 8.79% during the afternoon showings, 10.94% for the evening shows, and dropped to 7.96% during the night screenings.
According to Sacnilk’s predictions, the film is expected to perform poorly on its first Monday, earning just 54 lakh rupees nationwide. The film has also failed to attract viewers in the overseas market, earning a mere 25 lakh rupees in that region so far.
“Tejas” revolves around a fictional Indian Air Force pilot on a mission to rescue hostages from terrorists and features a cast including Anshul Chauhan, Varun Mitra, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Vishak Nair in key roles.
Following the underwhelming performance of “Tejas” at the box office, Kangana Ranaut posted a tweet on social media, expressing that those who wish her harm will lead unhappy lives, as she believes she is unstoppable. She asserted that she is destined to achieve significant accomplishments in her life and encouraged her detractors to join her fan clubs, as they would then align with her larger universal plan.
In her review of the film, The Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta commented that the film’s focus on keeping Kangana Ranaut in the spotlight leaves other characters as mere satellites.
