Apple’s factories in China have already initiated the shipping of fully assembled and packaged iPhone 15 Ultra units to distributors, as disclosed by a reliable tipster just days before the official announcement of the device.

It appears that Apple has completed production of the initial batch of its forthcoming iPhone 15 Ultra models. Respected supply chain analyst Ming Chi Kuo, known for his accurate predictions, has indicated that mass shipments of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max are scheduled to commence this week, even in the midst of concerns about potential supply chain challenges.

Kuo’s statement contrasts with recent reports that have indicated production delays. His outlook is also more optimistic compared to other analysts who have recently revised their shipment forecasts downward.

Kuo emphasizes, “Market concerns have arisen regarding possible supply chain obstacles leading to a decrease in iPhone 15 shipments (estimated at 80 million units in comparison to conservative projections of 70-80 million units), particularly concerning the iPhone 15 Pro Max and its potential delay.”

However, Kuo affirms that mass shipments of the iPhone 15 Pro Max are indeed beginning this week, and Apple is simultaneously increasing shipments of previous iPhone models.

In contrast to recent adjustments made by analysts such as Jeff Pu and Mizuho, who have lowered their iPhone 15 unit shipment forecasts, Kuo remains steadfast in expecting the shipment of 80 million iPhone 15 units and envisions a total of 250 million iPhone shipments throughout 2024. He even suggests that Apple could surpass Samsung in terms of units shipped by the end of 2023.

Kuo elaborates, “Samsung’s anticipated smartphone shipments for this year have been revised to 220 million units. If Apple maintains the iPhone orders for the latter half of 2024 as they are, iPhone shipments are likely to reach 220-225 million units in 2023, surpassing Samsung to become the world’s largest smartphone brand.”

Furthermore, Kuo envisions Apple maintaining its lead over Samsung in 2024.

Recent reports have also indicated that Apple is making adjustments to the color options for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. The traditional gold option is being replaced by a “Titan Gray” color featuring a new titanium frame. Meanwhile, the distinct Deep Purple color will be replaced by a new dark blue alternative.

As anticipation builds, Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 15 lineup on September 12, with the official confirmation of the date anticipated between August 29 and September 5.
