Indian archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale secured victory in the gold medal match for the compound mixed team event at the Asian Games 2023 by defeating Republic of Korea’s So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon. India’s success in this event marks their 71st medal and 16th gold medal at a single edition of the Asian Games.

PV Sindhu, the 2018 Asian Games silver medallist, advanced to the quarterfinals with a 21-16, 21-16 win over Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani. HS Prannoy also secured his spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Kazakh shuttler Dmitriy Panarin with a score of 21-12, 21-13.

Indian archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale will vie for the gold medal in the compound archery mixed team final after defeating Kazakhstan 159-154. The final is scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 AM IST.

Additionally, Indian men’s kabaddi team continued their winning streak at the Asian Games 2023, securing a 63-26 victory over Thailand in their second group A match. The team had previously defeated Bangladesh 55-18 in their first match.

At half-time in their second group match against Thailand, the Indian men’s kabaddi team held a commanding lead of 37-9. India, considered favorites, appeared poised for another significant win.

Following a dominant win against Bangladesh in their first match, the India men’s kabaddi team faced Thailand in their second match. India quickly achieved their first ‘all out’ against Thailand within seven minutes of the first half, leading 13-2.
