The accused, Ashwajeet Anil Kumar Gayakwad, is the son of Anil Kumar Gayakwad, Joint Managing Director of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.” In her post, she mentioned the names of Ashwajeet’s friends—Romil Patil, Prasad Patil, and Sagar Shelke—all Thane residents, as well as the name of her boyfriend’s driver-cum-security guard, Shiva. Priya wrote, “My boyfriend hit me with his car and left me on the road to die.”

Incident of being run over The police reported that the incident occurred near a hotel on Ghodbunder Road around 4:30 AM on Monday. The woman had come to meet Ashwajeet Gayakwad at this location. An argument ensued between them. Later, as Priya started walking away from the car, the person driving the vehicle attempted to run her over, causing her to fall and suffer serious injuries.

Pain revealed on social media An officer stated that Priya shared details of the incident on social media. She is currently undergoing treatment, and she claimed that Gayakwad is the son of a senior bureaucrat in Maharashtra.

Contradictory statements In conversation with the media, a senior police officer denied the allegations made by Priya in her social media post. The officer mentioned that an investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far.
