Dr. Sanjay Nishad, the National President of the Nishad Party and Cabinet Minister, stated that the Modi government would ensure justice for the Nishad community. He pointed out that previous governments had deceived them.

Dr. Sanjay Nishad, Cabinet Minister in the Yogi Adityanath government and National President of the Nishad Party, held a press conference on Tuesday, stating that reservation is the primary issue for their party. They are actively working among the public, organizing conferences. The first phase of this campaign was conducted in Gorakhpur Mandal, Azamgarh Mandal, Varanasi Mandal, Prayagraj Mandal, Chitrakoot Mandal, and Devipatan Mandal. They have received considerable support from the fishing community. The fishing community has been informed about how political parties have deceived them. They believe that the central and state governments are in a decisive position regarding reservation. They think that, like Uttarakhand, in Uttar Pradesh as well, groups of castes will receive reservations.

He mentioned that from 1921 to 1941, the Chief Secretary wrote a letter before the constitution was created, stating that all state governments, except Jammu and Kashmir, gave the opportunities provided in the constitution to the scheduled castes from 1931 to 1941. It was in accordance with the constitution’s list that the counting was done in 1961. WASHRAMAN and MILKMAN are doing well, but FISHERMAN has not received any benefit. They hope that they will also benefit from reservations.

In the next phase, a nationwide campaign will be launched on the occasion of World Fisherfolk Day on November 31. They will attempt to convey how, like the British and Mughals, previous governments have been unjust to them. Their files were missing. They were neglected by the conspirators, deceived. In 67 years, only 300 billion rupees were given through the Prime Minister’s Fisheries Plan.

Now, for fishermen, the 39 billion rupees they are receiving includes an allocation of 26 billion rupees for them, as well as group accident insurance and farmer credit cards. They are seeing that in Chitrakoot, initially, they could not benefit from our programs. Now, 40 percent of them are being asked to invest, which they are afraid of. They are getting farmer credit cards and receiving 60 percent subsidy from our department. This is benefiting them.

He noted that for the first time in 70 years, Chhattisgarh is putting a Nishad from the Bharatiya Janata Party, which belongs to the fishing community, in the election. If the BJP has done this in Chhattisgarh, other parties are doing the same. Now, someone from the Nishad community will reach the Assembly in Chhattisgarh as well.
