Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja criticized the Indian team management for what he perceives as unfair treatment of Ishan Kishan, who was rested from the last two T20Is.
Jadeja expressed his dissatisfaction, questioning the decision to rest Kishan after just three matches, stating, “There was a series right after the World Cup. Ishan Kishan played three matches and went home (rested). Was he really that tired after three matches that he needed rest?”
Highlighting Kishan’s limited playtime in the World Cup, Jadeja argued that the young cricketer deserved more opportunities, especially considering his potential. He also emphasized Kishan’s achievements, asking, “How many Indian players have scored a double century on a good day?”
Despite his intermittent appearances, Kishan has shown promise, securing two fifties in three outings. Jadeja questioned the decision to rest him, stating, “Ishan Kishan didn’t even play the entire five-match T20I series against Australia. He was sent home (rested) after three matches to rest. So, if this is going to continue, how will you ensure that he is fully ready?”
Kishan, known for his selfless attitude, has earned praise from players like R Ashwin. Despite his irregular playing opportunities, Kishan remains a consistent member of the squad and has been included in India’s T20I and Tests squad for the upcoming tour to South Africa.
